Can SQL Server 2000 take advantage of the processing power of a
quad-dual-core server?

PeteSQL2000 32 bit Enterprise can utilize 32 processors so I don't see why 8
should be an issue. But if you are getting fancy new hardware why not
upgrade to 2005 anyway?
